We play needle-down, rocket powered rock & soul from outer space to your dancing feet via your inner ear.
We play with a fierce right side of the brain and are all about keeping it below the belt.
We're from 500 years in your future and we've been here since 2000.
We've played live with Blues Explosion, The Dirtbombs, Heavy Trash, The Soledad Brothers, Weird War, Bob Log III, Kid Congo Powers, Dan Sartain and many, many more of our favourite bands.
We've recorded 3 albums you can listen to, the first one was recorded in New York by legendary producer Matt Verta-Ray and our 3rd you can download for free.
We have a 3d comic book biography.
We've played in art galleries.
We've played in strip joints.
We've played in front of 5 people and we've played in front of 1500.
Sometimes we have a robot with us, sometimes we don't.
But we always, always, have soul.
And we much prefer other folk spreading the gospel:
"It's all about primeval garage rock with dirty blues riffs and a singer that doesn't just talk the talk, but walks the walk and then some. This is the kind of band that would kick start that early morning house party come riot that memories are made of." - Capsule
"Copter are great. .. doing that kind of rock 'n roll funked up stuff that ties up James Brown soulful strutting with grimy rock. Class." - Delia Dansette, Artrocker Magazine
"They come from Mars via Birmingham, dress in uniforms, have a fully functioning android that takes the lead on some songs and a preacher cum front man who spends most of his time in the audience or on top of the speakers." - Wyldman, Artrocker Magazine
"Some bands are all gimmicks and no musical substance, not so with Birmingham's Copter. High energy, dirty low down rock and roll that sits nicely next to the headliners (Blues Explosion). The crowd clearly love every storming, shaking minute of their set." Eliza Henshaw, Sandman Magazine
"Like The Hives from space - or The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion if they were androids - intergalactic soul rockers Copter make the soundtrack for house parties at the edge of the universe. And with a fierce live show and a talking robot with a Theremin for a head, Copter is one of the most exciting new bands on the planet." - David McComb, Bizarre Magazine
"Preacher/singer Stevie writhes on the floor like a man possessed by the spirit of James Brown, Jon Spencer & Iggy Pop while MILO, their droid, interjects and heckles with quickfire wit while cherrypicking the potential groupies for aftershow robo-human relations.
Copter thrive on this toe to toe, eyeball to eyeball, hand to hand musical combat. They're an out and out party band which would grace anyone's gig, wedding, birthday, bar mitzvah, or wake, where they'd most probably wake the dead.
It's high octane, adrenaline pumped, yet slinky, fleet footed entertainment." - Velvet Sheep
"Dirty, dirty, dirty sounds like an evil Alvin Stardust fronting the Makers…." - Losing Today
"Sci-fi theatrics morphed with soulful rock 'n' roll from a six-piece who feature a robot droid called M.I.L.O among their numbers. Bonkers, but in a totally brilliant way." - NME
“No, really, this is brilliant. They sound like The Hives humping each and every Stax artist ever recorded, then making the offspring grow up in either Wigan Casino or outer space. Stuttering, barking rock ‘n’ roll genius.” - Showburner.com
"Evil is as "Evil" does, and the bluesy superfuzz of Birmingham's non-Paradise garage squallers Copter "Testify" to that via their subsonic, sternum-pulverizing, basso profundo CD, Strangest Tales. They're mad for the racket and riding hot rails to hell, bluesy neckbreakers bound for glory or feedback, possibly both." - Austin Chronicle
